What is skate-aid?
skate-aid is an NGO founded in 2009 that provides youth aid through the pedagogical power of skateboarding. Through their projects around the globe, they build skateparks and programs in areas of conflict and deprivation to support underprivileged kids and teenagers in their development and character building. Offering orientation aid, promoting gender and race equality, and enabling growth in self-esteem, community awareness, personal responsibility, and determination. The skateparks they’ve built in areas like Uganda, Rwanda, Palestine, and Syria are the necessary tools to provide sustainable help with their skateboard workshops.
